Tsogo Sun is fully supportive of the Association of South African Travel Agents (ASATA) in its promotion of free trade, professional conduct and a high standard of service to all travellers. ASATA members include travel management companies and wholesalers of various leading brands, with affiliates comprising representatives of the airlines, airports, car hire companies, hotel groups as well as tourism and hospitality bodies. The association also interfaces with key opinion leaders and senior government officials when it comes to policy, planning, operational and regulatory issues pertaining to the ongoing sustainability of the travel industry.

Involving the public and private sectors, South Africa’s National Responsible Gambling Programme (NRGP) is the only initiative of its kind on the continent. It involves a public awareness and prevention campaign, offers treatment and counselling services, conducts research, provides training for regulators and industry employees and promotes life skills curricula for school learners (grades 7 to 12). The NRGP received public grants for special projects but is primarily funded by voluntary contributions from the private sector which includes the gambling industry, with groups such as Tsogo Sun contributing about 0.1% of their winnings.

The Tourism Grading Council of South Africa is the country’s officially recognised quality assurance body for products and services targeted at domestic and international travellers. The council is responsible for implementing a recognisable and credible system of grading accommodation and MESE (Meetings Exhibitions and Special Events) experiences that can be relied on when choosing an establishment such as one of the various Tsogo Sun hotels and resorts in South Africa.
