The Roulette Masters Prize Money has Increased by a Staggering R2.1m!

Tsogo Sun’s annual ROULETTE MASTERS tournament offers its largest prize pool EVER with a total of over R5.2 Million. Apart from the record breaking R2.5 Million CASH first prize, the top 5 finalists will now share a in a prize pool of over R4 Million. Enter at any of the 14 Tsogo Sun casinos before qualifying rounds end on 9 March.

Casino Qualifying rounds

  • Heats take place daily from 9 January to 9 March 2017 – register at the designated area at each casino
  • One entry is R100 cash and you can enter as many times as you like during the tournament heats (points can be redeemed for entries at registration

Casino Final Rounds

  • Take place on 11 March 2017
  • The player with the highest chip winnings (from a single buy-in in the Qualifying Rounds) will automatically win the first prize at the casino they played at and will have a place in the Group Semi-finals
  • 20 semi-finalists from each individual casino (players in positions 2 to 21 on the leader board) will play it off to qualify for the 6 seats available in the Final Round
  • The winner/s of the Final Round at each individual casino will qualify for the Group Semi-finals at Gold Reef City

Group Quarter-Finals and Grand Final

  • The Group Quarter-Finals and Grand Final will be held at Gold Reef City on Saturday 25 March 2017
  • The 44 Grand finalists from the 14 Tsogo Sun casinos will play in the Group Quarter-final
  • The top 12 scores from the Group Quarter-final rounds qualify for a place in the Semi-final
  • The Semi-final round will consist of two tables comprising of 6 players each, whereby five players will qualify for a place in the Grand final
  • The five finalists will play for their share of R4 Million with the winner guaranteed R2.5 Million in CASH and the 2017 Roulette Masters trophy!

General Promotional Rules

  1. Only persons over the age of 18 may participate. Any person who is currently refused entry to the casino or who is self-excluded prior to or during the tournament may not participate and will be disqualified
  2. The tournament is divided into Casino specific and Group phases. Casino heats are those stages of the tournament that are held at the respective Tsogo Sun casino. The top qualifier and pre-determined number of winners of each UNIT final tournament will compete in the Group phase at the Grand Finals which will be hosted at Gold Reef City in Johannesburg
  3. Designated and demarcated operational tables and/or tournament tables will be utilised for the tournament. Live games will not be offered at the affected operational tables during tournament sessions, however live games may resume at these tables when it is not being utilised for tournament purposes
  4. Any buy ins for casino specific qualifying rounds not played prior to the closing date of the qualifying rounds will be forfeited
  5. Entry to each heat of the tournament is by way of cash buy-in of R100 (cash chips and plaques will also be accepted), or point redemption for the same amount for which colour and/or tournament and/or No Cash Value chips (“chips”) will be issued. Players may re-enter as many times as they wish by way of re-buys provided that the re-buys are for different heats
  6. Each chip will represent an unredeemable rand value of R10 for purposes of determining winners and ranking of players. These chips have no cash value and it cannot be redeemed for value in any form, or used to place bets at live games
  7. R10 table limits apply to all heats. R200 maximum on the number, R100 minimum on outside chances in multiples of R100, R5000 maximum on even money chances and R2500 on columns and dozens. No call bets will be accepted
  8. Players play for themselves, monies may not be pooled or transferred to other players. All chips must be returned to the respective table float at the end of each heat / round
  9. No Proxies will be allowed prior to the Casino specific semi finals
  10. Chips are to be kept on the Table in a visible manner at all times
  11. Chip “winning” from one heat / round session will not be carried over
  12. All monies received from buy-ins will be distributed into the prize pools for the casino specific and group phases. The casino will contribute the value represented by the total points redeemed for entrance fees towards the prize pool
  13. Participants do not earn Rewards Programme points during tournament play
  14. During the casino specific stages or casino qualification rounds a reasonable period will be given for the placement of bets however during later stages, specific time periods may be applied
  15. Registration and participation at the Unit semi-finals and finals, as well as Group semi-finals and Grand finals shall be in accordance with dates and times that will be advertised through the casino’s marketing mediums. Late registrations shall not be accepted
  16. Tournament winnings won during each individual heat will be totalled and ranked to determine the top chip earners
  17. Participants must bet during every spin
  18. Should there be tied scores and there is a need for a spin off i.e. progressing to the next round or determining a position a Dealer will spin the roulette ball in the wheel for the affected participants in alphabetical order of their surnames. The participant with the higher number (zero being a low number) will gain the higher position and the sequence will follow on respectively. The ranking order will be adjusted accordingly. In the event the same number is spun for more than one participant, the dealer will re-spin assigning the number spun alphabetically should there be a need
  19. In the event that a time limit to place bets is relevant, such bets must be placed within the time limit and may not be adjusted once the participants time limit has expired or they have indicated they have finished betting , when the rotational marker that is being utilised for betting sequence has moved on to the next participant
  20. Where the applicable score was earned by the play of a Proxy, the proxy name will continue to be used until the spinoff is completed
  21. Should participants wish to elect representatives through a proxy, they may elect representatives who may not be co-participants in any of the respective stages. The nominated representatives will be required to play without any coercion and/or input/strategy from the nominating participants concerned
  22. Where utilized, the Master of Ceremonies will announce the start of each tournament session. Participants or proxies, where relevant, who are not present at the actual start of the respective session will forfeit their seats without any re-funds. The Master of Ceremonies will announce the allocated times, which may differ during the various stages of the tournament
  23. Should a “NO SPIN” be declared by the Tournament Director whilst a rotational marker is being used, bets will not be changed and the ball will be re-spun
  24. Whilst every reasonable effort will be taken to ensure the accurate recording of rankings/scores, the onus shall remain with participants to ensure that their rankings/scores are correct at all times. The casino reserves the right to make the necessary corrections as soon as it becomes aware of any founded discrepancies, which corrections could change the rankings/scores of participants and allocation of prizes
  25. Tournament Director’s decision (or a Management Representative thereof) will be deemed as final and no correspondence will be entered into
  26. For casinos in the Western Cape Province, disputes of a gambling nature may be lodged with the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board pursuant to its rules
