Themed on the gold rush of the Witwatersrand from the late 1800’s that led to the establishment of Johannesburg, Gold Reef City is a Johannesburg family favourite. Boasting an array of Africa’s tallest, biggest and fastest thrill rides, tamer family rides, the only 4D theatre in South Africa and a fascinating mine museum with an underground mine tour – Gold Reef City is unsurprisingly one of the most popular amusement parks in the country.Gold Reef City is home to one of Johannesburg’s top attractions. Our theme park is the biggest in South Africa and will transport you to the gold rush era.
Whether you want family-friendly, kiddies rides or the biggest adrenaline rush, there is a ride for everyone at Gold Reef City.
Gold Reef City welcomes guests with disabilities and will do everything possible to ensure a safe and enjoyable day out for all.
We regret that guests with disabilities are unable to make use of certain rides due to strict operating requirements based on the containment of the ride, the force of the ride and the evacuation procedure.
Guests with disabilities are invited to enjoy the variety of attractions in the park and are requested to contact Guest Services upon arrival, where the Duty Manager will be happy to assist you before you enter the Park.
We are thrilled to announce the opening of the newest attraction in our Theme Park - Jump City Trampoline Park! It’s Johannesburg’s newest indoor trampoline park that has been installed in the venue previously known as The Hippodrome, located in Kiddies Corner. Access to Jump City is included in your Thrill Rider and Kiddie Rider ticket options only and jumpers need to purchase a pair of special grip socks at R30 in order to use the trampolines, which they can use again on their next visit.
