Explore Kenya’s Capital

Nairobi's history dates back to 1899 when a railway depot was built on the site. By 1907, the town replaced Mombasa as the country capital, referred to as British East Africa until Kenya’s independence in 1963. Today, many buildings including some of Nairobi’s finest hotels feature some colonial references.

Many tourists who visit Kenya are attracted by the safari opportunities at the Masai Mara National Park. To get there however often requires some time in Nairobi. The city itself is definitely worth exploring in its own right. Nairobi’s best attractions include vibrant souvenir filled markets and historical monuments.

A leading example of accommodation in Nairobi is the Southern Sun Mayfair Nairobi, just a few kilometres away from the National Museum, the National Theatre as well as the Giraffe Centre, the Nairobi National Park and 20km from the city’s airport.

This hotel has conference facilities that can cater for up to 350 delegates and is located in one of Nairobi's commercial hubs, with easy access to many of the embassies.
