We can confirm that Montecasino Bird Gardens has been closed until further notice as a precautionary measure following the detection of the avian flu virus. We are working closely with the State Vet and have implemented stringent measures to ensure our animals remain healthy, and their well-being continues to be our priority. Measures to protect all birds have been stepped up and the necessary precautions are being undertaken.

We apologise profusely to any groups or birthday parties that will be inconvenienced.

For great family entertainment in Johannesburg, come and experience the wonder of the Montecasino Bird Gardens. Here in our wildlife and bird park you can wander along enchanted walkways within magnificent gardens and marvel at a variety of colourful birds, mammals, reptiles and unusual animals from around the world.

In our walk-through Aviary, you'll find over 60 species of birds including Scarlet Ibises, and Nicobar pigeons, reptiles and small mammals, with smaller antelope wandering freely in the undergrowth.
