The Piazza at Montecasino

Italian Style Outdoor Living

In Italy, a piazza is the centre of public life, and it's no different at Montecasino. This open-air square with a Bell tower, was modelled on an Italian piazza, and offers guests the opportunity to enjoy Gauteng's sunny climate. It is the perfect Johannesburg venue for outdoor activities and events including festivals, show days, sports screenings, open air banquets and product launches.

The Piazza is surrounded by six restaurants, a theatre, banqueting facility and the SunSquare Hotel.

Restaurants on the Piazza

Each of the restaurants lining the Piazza has a dedicated 'al fresco' dining area and a mezzanine level overlooking the Piazza, as well as an inside section. The added height offers patrons a perfect vantage point from which to take in all the activities and events taking place on the Piazza.

Mugg & Bean is a very popular South African coffee shop that is great for breakfast, lunch and light meals. If you're looking for a great family restaurant, John Dory's is a relaxed seafood restaurant, with a versatile menu.
The Metropolis Lounge & Grill is an upmarket grill house and lounge, while Ciao Baby Cucina offers delicious contemporary and traditional Italian fare in an Italian setting. Experience Italian inspired food at its best at Col’Cacchio pizzeria.

Jenda is a contemporary restaurant with a great selection of wines and champagnes as well as a laid back tapas-inspired menu. Aarya - Restaurant of Deena - SA's first MasterChef winner, offers all day dining and includes culinary temptations such as the ever popular butter chicken and prawn salad.
