Julekha Gama, fondly known as Julie-Bhen or Aunty Julie, was born in India and came to South Africa at the age of four. More than a recipe book, Food forRoyalty will educate you on Indian food: why are certain foods "hotter", more spicy or creamy, why do certain foods have such peculiar names and where do they come from? Many of the stories in this book are rich in history and reflect Aunty Julies’ Indian and South African culture and heritage.

Aunty Julie now resides in Roshnee, a small town south of Johannesburg. She is a dynamic woman with an interesting sense of humour and is always willing to impart a trick or two in the kitchen.  All the recipes in Food for Royalty are inspired from Moghlai, Kashmiri and South Indian cuisine. They are unique and tantalising, sure to become sought-after favourites in your home!

Food for Royalty is a celebration of Julekha Gama’s Indian and South African culture and heritage.
