  • General access at R160 includes 20x wine tasting vouchers valued at R200, 1x tasting glass, 1x wine pairing voucher (T&C's apply, limited space available, on a first come first served basis)
  • Kinder Play Area at R20 with childminders & games for kids aged 3 – 12 years
  • Group tickets - pay R1,200 for 10 tickets instead of R1,600

An Authentic Italian Experience brought to you in conjunction with the Consulate General of Italy in Johannesburg, the Italian Embassy in Pretoria, The Italian Trade Agency & the Italian Chamber of Commerce

This year’s festival will not only showcase never-before tasted Italian wines and some unique Wine Pairing sessions with renowned Italian chefs but will also include Italian pop-up restaurants,  food stalls & a kiddies area, all contributing to creating an Authentic Italian Experience.

Coinciding with the ‘International Week of Italian Cuisine”, that is celebrated all over the world, the Italian Embassy will be hosting Michelin Star Chef Alfono Caputo from Napoli, Italy, who is famous for his typically napolitana – fish-based cuisine and who will be conducting the wine-pairing sessions during the festival.

Academics from Italy specialising in the science and study of wine and winemaking (Oenology) will be presenting, together with their counterparts from various universities in South Africa, on the Science of Wine & Winemaking.

In Partnership with the SA Chef’s Association

Vino in Piazza this year will be partnering with the SA Chef’s Association for a training and skills transfer initiative involving  Italian Cuisine – This is also part of the ‘ International Week of Italian Cuisine’ which this year celebrates the science & culture of Italian Cuisine.

The SA Chef’s Association students who will be working on the 3 days of the festival will be learning from some of the most renowned  Italian Chefs in SA as well as from the Michelin Chef from Italy, Alfonso Caputo. The best 2 students working on this initiative, will  stand a chance of winning a trip to Italy on an Italian culinary experience to learn first-hand how to cook authentic Italian food. A percentage of the proceeds from the ticket sales of Vino in Piazza as well as tips & other initiative during the festival, will go towards sending the students to Italy on this priceless culinary experience.
