Visit North West

This province is embraced by the African plains of Botswana, the Kalahari Desert, the Gauteng province and the Free State; making the area spectacular in its diversity. From the east, the Magaliesberg Mountain range extends into this land with the capital city, Rustenburg, resting at its feet, creating an oasis of fertile land in this otherwise arid landscape.  Rustenburg has a range of malls with shops and restaurants and plenty of opportunities for outside exploration in the surrounding landscapes. Nearby, Sun City is an internationally recognised playground for young, old and in between.

The cultural villages that dot the land pay homage to this province being known as “The Heritage Destination of South Africa.” These cultural villages reflect the importance of maintaining traditions and preserving the land. Paying a visit to one of these cultural villages will afford you the special opportunity to see South Africa through the eyes of the BaTswana people. In their stories they will take you with them as their forefather’s trek across the North West to the borders of the Kalahari.

The North West is an often overlooked and sometimes forgotten province, but a visit to the North West will introduce you to new landscapes, people and a unique African treasure.
