How to participate

  • Entry into the Tournament is R100 buy-in per game session.
  • A participant will buy-in and take an available seat at the tournament table.
  • Each player will receive R500 in tournament chips at the start of play.
  • Every spin, each player will have to play at least one bet (R10 table limits apply).
  • Six spins will constitute one heat with a 90 second intervals to allow for placing of bets.
  • A chip count system will be used to determine their ranking during the Sunday play offs.
  • The top 6 scores/players of each month, between 1 January to 31 March 2019 will take part in the finals on the last Sunday of the month. 
  • Qualifying rounds takes place on Sundays between 14h00 – 15h00 from 1 January to 31 March 2019.
  • In the finals, each player will receive R 1,000 in tournament chips at the start of play. An accumulative chip count for the heat will determine the final winner.
  • Normal AR rules apply except for Call Bets, Outside Chances, Columns and dozens which may not be played.

Promotional rules:

  1. Only persons over the age of 18 may participate. Any person who is currently refused entry to the casino or who is self-excluded prior to or during the promotion may not participate and will be disqualified.
  2. The promotion consists of heats that are held on the respective Sundays during the month at The Caledon. The top 6 scores of over the heats will compete in the Final on the last Sunday of the month, which will be hosted at The Caledon Casino.
  3. Designated and demarcated operational tables will be utilized for the promotion. Live games will not be offered at the affected operational tables during promotion sessions, however live games may resume at these tables when they are not being utilized for promotion purposes.
  4. Entry to each heat of the casino specific phase is by way of cash buy-in of R100 (cash chips and Cash Purchase Vouchers will also be accepted), or point redemption for the same amount for which colour will be issued. Players may re-enter as many times as they wish by way of re-buys provided that the re-buys are for different heats.
  5. A maximum of 10 buy ins at a time may take place which must be played prior to further buy ins taking place. Any buy-ins for the Heats not played prior to the closing date of the Heats will be forfeited and no refunds will be entertained.
  6. Each colour chip will represent an unredeemable rand value of R10 for purposes of determining winners and ranking of players. These chips have no cash value and it cannot be redeemed for value in any form, or used to place bets at live games.
  7. R10 table limits apply to all heats. R200 maximum on the number, and dozens. No call bets will be accepted. No outside bets are allowed.
  8. Players play for themselves and must play every spin unless otherwise stipulated in the Group phase. Monies may not be pooled or transferred to other players. All chips must be returned to the respective table float at the end of each heat / round.
  9. No Proxies will be allowed prior to the Finals held at The Caledon Casino. When nominating a proxy, the prescribed proxy form must be completed.
  10. Chips are to be kept on the Table in a visible manner at all times.
  11. Chip “winning” from one heat / round will not be carried over.
  12. All monies received from promotion buy-ins will be distributed into the prize pools for the Finals. The casino will contribute the value represented by the total points redeemed for entrance fees towards the prize pool.
  13. Participants do not earn Rewards Program points during promotion play.
  14. During the Heats a maximum of 90 seconds will be given for the placement of bets.
  15. All bets must be placed within the time limit and may not be adjusted once the participant’s time limit has expired, or they have indicated they have finished betting. Late bets will be removed.
  16. Once players have indicated they have finished betting prior to 90 seconds, the dealer may proceed.
  17. Registration and participation at the Heats shall be in accordance with dates and times that will be advertised through the casino’s marketing mediums. Late registrations shall not be accepted.
  18. Individual player’s chips will be totaled at the end of each heat and ranked to determine the top chip earners.
  19. A pre-determined minimum bet per spin is applied during the Final.
  20. Should participants wish to elect representatives through a proxy, they may elect representatives who may not be co-participants at the Finals. The nominated representatives will be required to play without any coercion and/or input/strategy from the nominating participants concerned.
  21. Should there be tied scores and there is a need for a spin off i.e. progressing to the Finals or determining a position, a dealer will spin the roulette ball in the wheel for the affected participants in alphabetical order of their surnames. The participant with the higher number (zero being a low number) will gain the higher position and the sequence will follow on respectively. The ranking order will be adjusted accordingly. In the event the same number is spun for more than one participant, the dealer will re-spin assigning the number spun alphabetically should there be a need
  22. Where the applicable score was earned by the play of a Proxy, the proxy name will continue to be used until the spinoff is completed.
  23. Where utilized, the Master of Ceremonies will announce the start of each promotion heat / round. Participants, or proxies where relevant, who are not present at the actual start of the respective session will forfeit their seats without any re-funds. The Master of Ceremonies will announce the allocated order, which may differ during the various stages of the Group phases.
  24. Should a “NO SPIN” be declared by the Promotion Director, bets will not be changed and the ball will be re-spun.
  25. Whilst every reasonable effort will be taken to ensure the accurate recording of rankings/scores, the onus shall remain with participants to ensure that their rankings/scores are correct at all times. The casino reserves the right to make the necessary corrections as soon as it becomes aware of any founded discrepancies, which corrections could change the rankings/scores of participants and allocation of prizes.
  26. All decisions are final and binding and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into. Any Complaints and/or dispute can be lodged to the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board. The Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board will be informed of unresolved disputes, subject to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act.
  27. All buy ins will be returned in the form of prizes.
  28. In the event that the required number of buy-ins exceeds the target number, the additional prize monies will be distributed across the finalist prizes as deemed appropriate by the promotion director.
