Terms & Conditions

We want to make sure you get the most out of the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme, so please have a read through our Terms and Conditions to make sure we are all on the same page.

General

  1. The Tsogo Business Rewards Programme (“the Programme”) is a reward programme operated by Southern Sun Hotel Interests Proprietary Limited t/a Tsogo Sun Hotels (“Tsogo Sun”)
  2. An eligible company is a company incorporated and registered with the proper authority in the jurisdiction in which it operates, excluding 3rd Parties (Travel Agents, Tour Operators, Professional Conference Organisers), Associations, Government Departments, NGOs (Non-Government Organisations), Political Parties and Embassies and companies contracted as a Tsogo Sun Partner or Key Account
  3. A Tsogo Business Rewards Programme Member has to book online through Tsogo Sun’s Travel Booker or direct with the property to earn or redeem
  4. Tsogo Sun reserves the right, amongst other rights, to withdraw membership at its sole discretion. In addition Tsogo Sun reserves the right to suspend or terminate the Programme participation where Tsogo Business Rewards Programme members are in breach of these terms and conditions, including but not limited to, qualification criteria
  5. Qualifying criteria will determine the enrolment to the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme
  6. Programme participation, rewards and benefits transfer to new owners of the company and cannot be ceded or assigned to other companies / individuals
  7. Rewards, offers and benefits may not be used in conjunction with other offers and benefits of unrelated rewards/customer loyalty programmes
  8. Tsogo Sun reserves the right without consultation with Tsogo Business Rewards Programme members or any prior approval thereof, to amend the terms and conditions for participating in the programme, including but not limited to alliance with other rewards/customer loyalty programmes. Equally rewards, benefits, SunRands earned, special offers, expiry periods and rates at which points are earned may be amended from time to time.  Such amendments will be communicated in writing to Tsogo Business Rewards Programme members or will be posted on www.tsogosun.com under these terms and conditions
  9. The Tsogo Business Rewards programme is valid at participating Tsogo Sun hotels in Africa, and Seychelles. The participating hotels may be changed from time to time and such changes will be published under these terms and conditions on this website
  10. All bookings are subject to the existing terms and conditions prevailing at the time of booking, including meal and children's policies
  11. Tsogo Business Rewards Programme members are required to notify Tsogo Sun of any changes in address or company details, either in writing or to the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme contact person. Tsogo Business Rewards Programme members can also update their own company details by logging into their online profile on Tsogo Sun’s Travel Booker
  12. Third party reward/ customer loyalty programmes linked to the Programme operate independently subject to their own terms and conditions. Tsogo Sun shall not be liable for any loss (including loss of income), injury, death and/or damages of any nature whatsoever and howsoever arising, including negligence on the part of Tsogo Sun, which may occur as the result of the use of any products, goods or services offered by partner programmes
  13. Tsogo Sun reserves the right to alter, amend or cancel the Programme at any time with prior written notice. In addition the use of points and/or benefits may be suspended from time to time with prior written notice thereof
  14. Programme participants indemnify and hold harmless, Tsogo Sun, its subsidiaries, management and employees against any legal action, claim or suit, including but not limited to non-compliance in respect of consent requirements. Except where such legal action, claim or suit is a result of gross negligence and unlawful acts on the part of Tsogo Sun
  15. All customer related queries should be directed to the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme team (business.rewards@tsogosun.com), the Tsogo Sun Customer Contact Centre on 0861 44 77 44 or +27 (0)11 461-9744 for International calls (International calls are charged at standard rates)
  16. By making use of the programme, the company acknowledges that it is aware of the conditions of use. To ensure the company receives its membership benefits and rewards, quote the company’s Tsogo Sun Corporate ID when making the company’s bookings
  17. Tsogo Sun cannot be held responsible for correspondence sent to the company, which is lost or delayed in the mail
  18. Tsogo Business Rewards Programme members may elect not to be included in Tsogo Sun’s marketing communications list by opting out at any time by notifying the relevant Tsogo Sun entity in writing. A reasonable period should be allowed for Tsogo Sun to give effect to aforementioned opt-out request; hence the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member may receive marketing communication during the transitional period
  19. Companies within the Tsogo Sun Group or any subsidiary of Tsogo Sun Holdings Limited may not participate in the programme
  20. The Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member is responsible for ensuring that each person who stays at the hotel under a booking made by them complies with the Tsogo Sun Booking terms and conditions.  The Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member will be responsible for non-compliance by guests staying at Tsogo Sun hotels under bookings that it makes

Application and qualifying criteria

  1. Application

    To apply to be a member of Tsogo Business Rewards Programme a company must appoint an individual as its representative (first authorised individual).  Once the application has been approved the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member will be provided a membership number and PIN.  Subject to the other conditions stated herein, Tsogo Sun will approve an application to join the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme if the company estimates that it will spend R250,000 or more on accommodation during the year following activation of its Tsogo Business Rewards Programme membership and during each subsequent year.  Tsogo Sun may at its sole discretion change the annual spend limit at any time. If Tsogo Sun makes such change a company that applies to join the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme will be notified in the application process and Tsogo Sun will notify existing Tsogo Business Rewards Programme members by notifying the first authorised individual

  2. Conditions of Tsogo Business Rewards Programme Membership
     
    1. Minimum annual spend – A Tsogo Business Rewards Programme Member must spend at least R250,000 per annum
    2. The Tsogo Business Rewards Programme Member shall be responsible for keeping the PIN number confidential and not allowing its membership and PIN number to be used by a third party or any other person who is not authorised by the member company
  3. Restrictions
     
    1. A Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member must not provide its membership benefits to third parties for value or otherwise
    2. The Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member may not assign or transfer its membership without authorisation from Tsogo Sun
       
  4. Tsogo Business Rewards Programme and Group Bookings
     
    1. If a Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member intends to make a booking for 10 rooms or more at the same time the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member can choose to make a Group booking
    2. If the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member chooses to make a group booking the terms and conditions provided to the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member in respect of the Group booking will apply and the benefits of membership of the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme (discounts and earning sunrands) as detailed in the benefits table will not apply to the booking
    3. Provided the Group booking is made under the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member’s name the revenue (spend) will contribute to the annual spend required under paragraph 2.2.1 above unless Tsogo Sun expressly states otherwise
       
  5. Suspension and Cancellation of Tsogo Business Rewards Programme membership
     
    1. If Tsogo Sun believes that any of the following situations exist, it may suspend or cancel with or without notice any Tsogo Business Rewards Programme membership (by disabling the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme membership) and/or revoke the discount(s) applied to any unconsumed hotel room nights associated with such membership and/or cancel the bookings made under the relevant Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member’s name
      • Any of the information provided in the application to become a member of Tsogo Business Rewards Programme was not true or resulted not to be true
      • Any of the information provided by the individual is not authorised by the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member e.g. the individual is not an employee, director or partner of the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member’s company and/or the individual is not authorised by the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member to submit the application
      • There is any other misuse of the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme membership or violation of any of these terms and conditions of Tsogo Business Rewards Programme membership listed above
      • The Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member and/or any of its guests fail to comply with Tsogo Sun’s booking terms and conditions
      • Physical, verbal, written or other intimidation or abuse of Tsogo Sun hotels or Tsogo Sun staff
    2. The Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member may apply to cancel its membership by issuing a notice in writing, including by email.  The Tsogo Business Rewards Programme membership will be cancelled within 14 working days after Tsogo Sun receives such notice
    3. Upon cancellation of membership to the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme, all benefits provided to the company under the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme will no longer be available to the company

Earning SunRands

  1. 1 SunRand = 1 South African Rand on redemption
  2. SunRands are valid for 24 months from first date of issue, after which period they expire. Unused SunRands older than 24 months will be forfeited
  3. SunRands earned will be allocated to the Tsogo Business Rewards Programme member 24 hours after check out
  4. SunRands are not earned on confidential rates (including Discovery Vitality), Timeshare or on any reservations booked through Online Travel Agencies (OTA)
  5. Tsogo Business Rewards Programme members do not earn SunRands when staying at SUN1, Park Station Inn and Timeshare
  6. Tsogo Business Rewards Programme members purchasing or making use of Timeshare units through the Timeshare sales offices for resort properties do not qualify for SunRands earning
  7. Tsogo Sun shall not be liable for any loss of value or SunRands in any manner and howsoever arising. Tsogo Business Rewards Programme members are required to safeguard their PIN, SunRands and any other value linked to the Programme against loss, theft or fraudulent use
  8. Tsogo Business Rewards Programme members do not earn on the redemption portion of their stay however should they have to pay in a cash value toward their accommodation they will earn on the top up value on accommodation, food and beverage at hotel owned restaurants and bars plus sundry items (hotel owned laundry services, telephone calls and hotel owned parking)
