Presented by Pieter Toerien in association with Cape Town Opera, Cameron Mackintosh’s acclaimed production of Oliver! is based on Oliver Twist, the timeless novel by Charles Dickens. With music, lyrics and book by Lionel Bart, this heartwarming and exhilarating musical follows the journey of a young orphan searching for family, belonging and hope in the bustling streets of Victorian London.

Escaping the grim realities of the workhouse, Oliver finds himself swept into an extraordinary adventure alongside some of musical theatre’s most memorable characters — the cunning Fagin, the spirited Artful Dodger and the compassionate Nancy. Through moments of humour, heartbreak and triumph, Oliver! celebrates resilience, kindness and the enduring power of hope.

Coming to the magnificent Teatro at Montecasino in 2027, this brand-new production will be directed by Steven Stead and promises spectacular staging, vibrant choreography, richly detailed costumes and an outstanding South African cast.
