Poker takes centre stage at Emerald Casino from 9 – 13 September with four tournament events across five days. Whether you are stepping up for the High Roller, building momentum in the Mini Main, taking on the Emerald Blast or chasing the Main Event title, the series offers a clear tournament path with different buy-ins, starting stacks and event structures.
Satellite Weekend | 5-6 September
The road to Emerald begins with Satellite Weekend. Satellites are qualifying tournaments that offer a route into a larger target event, with seats or tickets awarded according to the satellite prize pool and any guaranteed seats. It is a great way to begin your Emerald Poker Series journey before the main tournament schedule gets underway.

How A Poker Tournament Works
A tournament buy-in gives each player a starting stack. Tournament chips do not have a direct cash value. Once play begins, the blinds rise at predetermined intervals called levels, progressively increasing the pressure on each stack. Many tournaments allow late registration for a defined period, after which the field size and prize pool can be confirmed.
Tournament structures can also include rebuys, re-entries or add-ons. A rebuy provides another allocation of chips after a player loses their stack, while a re-entry is a completely new entry during the permitted registration period. An add-on allows a player to purchase extra chips without being eliminated. Every tournament has its own structure, so players should check the event details before entering.
The final prize pool is based on the total number of entries and the amount from each entry allocated to the prize pool. Paid positions are then determined in relation to the final field size.
